I've been unable to find any decent pizza in North Brunswick for a few years, ever since my big fight with the moron owner of Anthony's Trattoria had me shun that place forever. (And now it's closed; what goes around, comes around). At least on my side of town. It's a real pain to get to the other side, and it was pouring rain tonight. So when I wanted to take out a pizza, I decided to try a recent addition - Say Cheese Pizza.
This is in the same location as Vinny and Sons, which I never got to try. I think it's the identical place, same owner, with just a new name.
I ordered a large, plain pizza, then went to pick it up on the way back from picking up my car from servicing.
I was pleasantly surprised to find a very attractive restaurant, which I definitely will try for more than pizza. There are about ten tables, each seating four people, with black fabric tablecloths that have plastic over them. I'm not a fan of plastic, but in this case, the black tablecloths definitely gives this place a bit of ambience that would make me want to order a meal here.
The pizza was just coming out of the oven, so it was definitely freshly made. The owner carried the box out to the car for me, which was helpful with the deluge and my oversized purse. I took it home and we dug in. And it was great!!! Wonderful crust, not oversalted, and crisp, just the way I love it. Lots of good cheese, and a tasty, well-seasoned sauce.
There are some coupons inside the carry-out menu, one of which is for two subs for 9.95. Some of the subs on the menu are definitely intriguing and different, and I'll be trying them. There are a few other useful ones, and some notations of specials available on particular nights of the week. The chicken and veal entrees are 13.50 and 14.50 respectively, and are served with pasta, plus salad or soup.
I've finally found a pizza to love in this town! And I'll return to try some of their other items. -

It's sad we have been ordering from them for few years, tonight we ordered 4 Cheesesteaks dinner and one had a long hair in it. When we contacted them basically was told in a very abrasive way accidents happen, no apologies, no offer to try and make it right on our next order., we were not looking for any refund, just we are so sorry and can we make it right on your next order. I guess a $7.00 sandwich is worth loosing a customer that orders several times a month.
Very Disappointed, as we really enjoyed their food! -

A cheese and mushroom pizza was ordered. These pizzas were disappointing this time around. There was not enough cheese on either pizza. For the mushroom pie, there seemed to be an uneven distribution of mushrooms. The sauce was tasty though. This was a surprise given previous trips to this establishment.

Great pizza place. I've stopped in a few times and their service is always great/speedy. I got the chicken parm tonight which comes with a soup or salad, pasta, and bread. It's around $16 which is great. It's very delicious and the soup taste very fresh and flavorful. Definitely a good place to go to when I'm in the mood for Italian or pizza. I highly recommend it. Keep up the great work!
